ANNA FILAMENO
Anna Filameno was born in Little Italy in The Bronx. She has been acting since she was seven years old.
During her late teens she travelled with an Agit Prop theater group, which brought her to many parts of the country. She was with The Players Guild in New York City, Karamu Theater in Cleveland, Ohio and the Apple Street Playhouse in New Orleans.
After a long separation from her roots, she began a personal odyssey that brought her to a revelation that she is deeply rooted in her heritage. From this she began writing about her experience and through these vignettes she has been given new insights into the Italian spirit.
Anna was committed to her belief in the human spirit, her imagination and her love for her own emotional liberation. When she is not acting or writing she spent inspiring afternoons with her granddaughter Sofia Rose.
